Lixvisbeam™ HD Smart 4K Projector

I typically don’t write reviews but I am just so in love with this projector that I just had too! The quality is amzinggg it looks as if I am watching a HD tv screen! The only downfall is that it doesn’t get loud at all, it’s very low . BUT it allows you to connect to a speaker and with my iHome speaker it gets VERY loud (As you’ll be able to hear in my video) , so I definitely feel like I have an in home movie theater in my bed room! I highly recommend 😊

i got this projector for a very specific need - i like to watch tv as i'm falling asleep for a little background noise, but watching on a device in bed can cause some neck strain which gets uncomfortable over time. given this very specific need, i feel generally satisfied with the projector, but there are a handful of things i would still have liked to see improved, and a handful of things i think would make this a less competitive choice for other use cases.

starting with the things i do like about the projector: it is very compact. this makes it easy to set it up in a singular location and leave it setup for continuous use. it wouldn't be too difficult to move to different locations, though, if you needed this to be a more portable option. the HDMI connection works well. it is easy for me to mirror my laptop's content to the projector and get a decent image. the various viewing angles are also very convenient. depending on whether i'm using the projector as i'm falling asleep, or just for a larger screen to watch content for recreation in my room, i can project to my wall or my ceiling and still be satisfied with the image. it doesn't make a lot of noise in operation, although it definitely can be heard, and the built-in audio has a decent volume for personal use. it has helped with my neck pain/neck strain from my bedtime habit as well.

moving onto the cons:
-this is not great for use with a mobile device. playing content from my phone would have been my ideal scenario. the product listing does say that airplay/phone mirroring will not work due to copyright protections, and to use HDMI if you plan to use the projector with streaming services, but i assumed this meant you could use an HDMI cable with a mobile device and still play content via HDMI. this is not the case. most streaming services block you from playing the content on airplay/phone mirroring and HDMI with this projector.
-there is often substantial lag/choppiness between the picture and the audio, and/or the picture on your laptop vs the picture on the projector. refreshing the media player sometimes helps with this, but in general, this is a pretty big issue with the product.
-the image could be a lot clearer. i could not see any way to adjust contrast/saturation or other picture settings via the projector, and it would be nice if you had the option to do this as the picture is not the best quality. it's alright, and i've seen worse, but it's just shy of great quality.
-the audio also could be a lot louder if you plan to use this to watch content with people. i believe you have the option to connect the projector to aux or bluetooth speakers for louder audio, but with the lag you get on the picture alone, i'd be wary to say that this is a good solution because i would guess it would cause even more lag across the devices and the playback. i haven't tested this out because i'm just using the item for personal use; i don't need great sound quality or volume range for my use case.
-finally, i really wish this projector had a sleep setting. it would be so nice to be able to set a sleep timer on the product for it to automatically turn off after a certain amount of time. this would be good for my specific use case, so i could literally fall asleep to TV, but i think it's also a missed feature in general. many people rely on sleep timers for their devices to automatically power off after x amount of time or inactivity, and not being able to set that setting on this projector is kind of a miss in my opinion.

overall, i feel like it has enriched my media viewing experience, but if i had ordered this product as a normal purchase, i might find myself returning it. i can recommend this for people who are not looking for something extraordinary, just for something to check the most basic of boxes. but if you have high expectations for your media viewing experiences, i would recommend you to go in another direction.

 At first glance, you wouldn't think this to be worth the time since it is more compact and doesn't have some other features. However, I like this over some others. For starters, it's positional. No need to find something to raise the projector. This adjusts vertically without moving the base. I also kind of prefer the manual focus. It's quicker to adjust and allows for fine tuning rather than electronic adjustments. I will say the speakers are not that great, but I don't plan on using them since I can connect one easily. I wish that this had come with an HDMI cable, but I don't mind getting one. I will most likely be sticking with WiFi connection anyway. The picture was nice and bright as well. AirPlay over my iPhone wasn't very smooth but I suspect that to be a limitation outside of this projector. Very affordable projector with a lot of features.

I found this mini projector to be quite useful in many applications, we have already used it at a town hall meeting in an A/V presentation, and as well we took it camping with us powering the projector using a 300 watt voltage inverter connected to a spare battery!

Setup is simple following the quick installation guide instructions.

The first thing that needs to be done is to rotate the focus dial until the menu is sharp.
Focus is done manually.

Settings
I began by configuring Networking for Internet connectivity; In Networking located the WiFI access point I wanted to connect to.
To continue I then proceeded through all other settings excluding any unused such as BlueTooth for example.

- Once I completed all of the settings in my projector I then connected a Roku streamer to the HDMI port which can be found by pressing Home on the remote control, then select HDMI and once there I selected my Roku player.

- I also connected a USB drive with various recordings on it as well, accessing the contents of a USB drive is done by pressing Home and then select Files, then I chose my drive and was able to view the content to select and view.

* Considering the fact that in the images I used in this review were taken in a moderately well lit room against a white textured drywall as the screen the video quality is acceptable.

* I viewed video from YouTube, Roku, and a USB all easily accessed using the provided remote control.

* I didn't have an audio pin adapter on hand when I first hooked the mini projector up unfortunately.

* Our family went up to camp on a mountain near our place and I took a 300 watt power inverter and a freshly charged 12 volt deep cycle marine battery to power the projector, we projected the video onto a bed sheet tied between two trees using rope and it worked very well.

* While I don't suggest this, I did find that the projector is relatively resistant damage in low level falls (not to concrete!) as the Grandchildren were playing with the dog and one of them accidentally nudged the table knocking the projector off of the camp table it was setting on ... I picked it up and it was still working fine.

! Be sure to remove the clear film on the projector's lens !

I got this for Christmas 2023. I decided to open it up and use it for a home date night with my husband, it was easy start up, the picture quality was great. I love that you can connect sound via bluetooth. We connected our sony sound bar and it was great. I love that netflix and youtube are already installed. Im sure you can downnload other apps as well.

BUT as there are all good things.. im ablittle dissapointed. We installed Prime video, signed in and was wager to watch a new movie but it would not play the video on this platform. It kept buffering and then would close the app down. I tried playing another movie and it was the same while using prime video. I even tried to mirror the app from my phone and no go..

We ended up just finding something on netflix to watch and it was awesome! But its safe to say i dont believe Prime video is compatible with this projector.

I think this is something that the makers of this product should look into…

This projector is great for any room. It is just like having a big screen portable TV. It does not play all the apps though. Amazon Prime and Hulu screen resolution is not compatible to the projector display settings.

Reason for purchase:
We were looking to project on the ceiling and needed keystone adjustment.

Pros:
Miracast, HDMI, Wifi, TV APPS, USB, PRICE!, projects on ceiling, keystone adjustment

Cons:
1080P (if looking for HD), onboard speaker is tinny, could be brighter in low light, need 270 degree HDMI connector, possibly the same for 3.5mm audio connection, port location at rear.

This projector is worth the price at about $100. Out of the box, you will want to connect the device to the wifi to update the software. The UI and software version shipped with our version lacked the ability to select special characters like ?, !, <, >. Keep this in mind if your wifi contains special characters. Updating the software rectified the issue.

If using the projector on the ceiling, consider buying a 270 degree (elbow) HDMI connector. This will run you about $5 on Amazon. A good sound system should also be considered. I used a Logitech Z407. A new system may run you about $120, but cheaper solutions may also be used.

The USB is useful for a keyboard if you prefer to type in your password. Keep in the mind that the software may not allow special characters until updating.

The best environment is one that is dark. The keystone adjustment is best done manually. The ceiling I was projecting on is pitched, so adjusting the keystone is a must. The focus is done manually via the ring on the barrel of the projector.

The noise from the projector is insignificant. If the projector is right next to you and you DO NOT have a good speaker system, chances are you will notice the hum of the projector. For me, I'm normally to engrossed in what I am watching.

Shipping was a bit faster than the original expected date. We love the picture quality and additional apps you can download on the device. It is a very easy set up and you have options to expand screen if needed.
